NBA 2K20 Update 1.08 Patch Notes

Improved performance for PS4 Pro users. Improvements to the MyPLAYER Nation feature in MyCAREER. Help lead your team to the title!Fixed an issue that would sometimes prevent users from joining their friends in the Neighborhood, and/or would sometimes load the invited friend into the wrong location. Many, many more fixes included to improve the overall experience of NBA 2K20!

For owners of Sony’s console, it’s the very first bullet on the list of fixes that may be most important. Since late October especially, those playing 2K20 on PS4 Pro have endured crippling framerate drops shortly after boot and during critical in-game moments. As UI elements like the shot clock continue to conduct their business on screen, player movement would slow down while input lag took over. For a heavy simulation game like NBA 2K20, where shot timing is everything, the performance degreation became borderline unacceptable. Patch 8 may not do much, but at least it solves this singular major problem.

As for MyPlayer Nation, that mode was introduced with Patch 7 in late October. For those who don’t know what it is, the feature is a subset of MyCareer that allows MyPlayers who play for the same team to work toward common objectives. Perform well enough with your fellow teammates and you’ll be offered progression bonuses, unique cosmetics and more. As far as the 1.08 update is concerned, Patch 8 goes great lengths to address any bugs, glitches or problems with these community missions.

Speaking of glitches, it should be noted that, while not listed, it’s also likely this 1.08 patch makes strides in eliminating any VC or rep glitches that existed in previous versions of 2K20. Longstanding grinds with brand deals and contract negotiations are likely still in place, but the yield for taking advantage of such features may be less than before. NBA 2K20 update 1.08 doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it helps iron out a few kinks that make this buggy game slightly more playable.

NBA 2K20 is available now on Xbox One, PS4, Switch and PC.
