While the ’80s produced plenty of hits still relevant today, few have maintained the popularity of Astley’s legendary ballad. Rick Astley has even been very gracious about the revival of his #1 hit and embraced the popularity of the memes. Despite this, though, the legendary meme has found countless ways to be reinvented and perpetuated way past its due date, with this LEGO version serving as only the latest in a long line of fan-made masterpieces on YouTube.

The original music video has amassed over 700 million views on YouTube since 2009, some by choice and countless others without realizing what they were viewing. Ironically Astley was retired for a good majority of the time between the song’s release and the Internet’s adoption of it. Now, he is much more of an icon than in the ’80s. Domy13 has made an everlasting contribution to the Internet with Brick Rolling and helped perpetuate the memes in the process.
